Courtesy of a near-flawless “Native American” themed routine, National University claimed its second straight University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 77 Cheerdance Competition crown in front of 22,000 fans, on Sunday, September 14, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
University of the Philippines, hoping to regain the crown with an equality-themed performance, settled for second while University of Santo Tomas finally got a medal after three years.

The NU Pep Squad tallied a total of 677.5 points way ahead of their closest rivals, the UP Pep Squad which managed to score 658 points, and more than 50 points ahead of the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe which recorded 625 points.
