UST and ADMU defeated their respective rivals to set up their men’s showdown for the crown two weeks from now as La Salle will have to wait another week to know who will their opponent be for the women’s tiara.

UST and ADMU Male Shuttlers demolished their respective foes for the UAAP Season 73 Men’s Badminton crown at the Badminton Hall of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex last Sept. 12.

The Katipunan-based hitters made mincemeat of DLSU, 3-1 as UST needed to win their deciding match to eliminate National U, 3-2.

The finals encounter will be a rematch of their Sept. 5 meeting. UST edged Ateneo 3-2 to inflict ADMU their only loss in this match play format.

On the women’s side, defending champions DLSU continued its winning ways by blasting UST 3-1 to gain the first finals berth as FEU forced a winner-take-all tie with UE as they eked out a 3-2 decision.

The deciding match between UE and FEU will be held Sept. 18 for the second finals berth.
