The Philippine Rugby Football Union (PRFU) Development Team faced the Hong Kong Tertiary Squad in a friendly match August 18 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. Aiming to develop and promote the sport in Asia, the PRFU and Hong Kong Rugby Football Union organized tours in the region, with the friendly two-match series in the country set as part of their program.

Hong Kong won 40-7.
