De La Salle University’s victory over the University of the Philippines last September 4 meant two things: First, that the Green Archers can still pull off a comeback if push came to shove, now that their Final Four chances are still alive, albeit slim; and two, that the Fighting Maroons are, according to head coach Ricky Dandan, still somewhat ”immature,” as proven by their second quarter 20-point lead, that turned to a one-point defeat.
This week, DLSU will need to win its remaining two games, and continue to keep their fingers crossed that the UST Growling Tigers lose theirs, in order to force a play-off match for the last final 4 slot (or, if Ateneo sweeps the double round robin, a ticket to the stepladder). As for UP, they will treat their battle against co-bottom dweller UE as their own championship game. “It’s a game we have to win,” said Dandan.
Here are some scenes from the DLSU-UP collision.
