The Far Eastern University Tamarraws defeated the University of the East Warriors, 79-63 today, November 5 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

The Recto-based squad is definitely giving their all every game as they tortured Coach Olsen’s boys with their defense during the first quarter that left FEU with a slow start and ending the period with, 22-18.

Knowing that FEU is a tough team to beat, the mindset of UE was to pound them with all they got and of course led by their star player, Alvin Pasaol who garnered 10 points in the first half, the Warriors ended the quarter and sustained the lead, 33-29.

As the third quarter commenced, the Tamarraws did some adjustments during half time and Coach Olsen tried to make a rotation as the second half began to produce more baskets from the bench and finished the quarter with a deadlock, 49-all.

Even though they began the game slowly, with the definitive collective effort that FEU presented, they definitely showed the Warriors in Red that they deserve to be part of this year’s final four series.

“First of all, ang UE still have a chance. Any Derek Pumaren coached team, talagang lumalaban yan until the end. Actually, wala pa kami sa final four kaya kailangan naming tong panalong ito. We need two more games on Wednesday and Saturday against NU and Adamson,” said by Coach Oslen Racela.

On the other hand, Alvin Pasaol contributed 18 points and 7 rebounds while Mark Olayon rallied 14 points and 2 rebounds for the Warriors in today’s game.

And bannering the Tamarraws were Jasper Parker, Prince Orizu and Arvin Tolentino who pitched in 18, 14 and 10 points, respectively.
