The 2012 Jr. NBA Philippines presented by Alaska kickstarts in Metro Manila with school clinics for kids of all ages from February 4 to 20, 2012 in various public and private schools.
The schedule for the clinics are as follows:
- Feb 4 (Saturday) – British School in Taguig City
- Feb 9 (Thursday) – Rizal High School in Pasig
- Feb 11 (Saturday) – Paco Catholic School
- Feb 15 (Wednesday) – Ynares Gym in Binangonan
- Feb 16 (Thursday) – Pasig Catholic College
- Feb 18 (Saturday) – Grace Christian College in Quezon City
All clinics and stages of the Jr. NBA Philippines Program are absolutely free.
The National Basketball Association’s international youth development program, back in the Philippines for the 5th consecutive year, started off with a Coaches Clinic at Treston International College in Taguig City on January 14. This was followed by a tour of coaches and school clinics in Puerto Princesa, Pampanga and Cagayan de Oro from January 15 to 20.
Hundreds of coaches and thousands of students attended the program on its provincial tour, with Cagayan de Oro setting a Jr. NBA record of 582 kids in one afternoon session. The Jr. NBA also conducted NBA Cares activities in a school for special children inSan Fernando, Pampanga and in an evacuation center in Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City, one of the areas devastated by Typhoon Sendong.
US Jr. NBA Coach and NBA Legend Marty Conlon led the provincial school and coaches clinics with the support of local coaches Ronnie Lacsamana (Puerto Princesa), Benjie Navarro (Pampanga), Jun Noel and Jojo Lastimosa (Cagayan de Oro). Louie Gonzalez and Topex Robinson will lead the school clinics for February.
All kids are welcome to attend the afternoon sessions only of the school clinics at the Paco Catholic School (Feb 11) and at the Ynares Gym in Binangonan (Feb 15).
