Needing a change in a slumping campaign this UAAP season, University of the Philippines turned to former head coach Rey Madrid to call the shots for the Fighting Maroons for the rest of their Season 76 campaign.

For a while, the reinvigorated Maroons even gained a sizeable lead over a loaded De La Salle University lineup.

However, the Diliman five succumbed due to a late game flourish by the Green Archers.
