University of Perpetual Help wins their fifth consecutive NCAA Cheerleading Championship on Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Altas Perps Squad, garnering 480.85 points, won their eighth title overall. They beat out Arellano University (468 points) and Mapua Institute of Technology (460 points) for the top podium finish.
Meanwhile, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde officially received their fourth seniors overall title, beating out San Beda College in a tight race to the title.
The Blazers amassed 550.5 points at the season’s end, denying the Red Lions their fourth consecutive overall crown.
San Beda, which led by 45 points heading into the final three events of the season, had paltry finishes in the men’s beach volleyball and athletics tournaments to give the season hosts a close 6.5 winning margin for the crown.
During the season, the Mendiola Avenue-based squad garnered maximum points in the basketball, men’s and women’s swimming, men’s and women’s table tennis, football, and the men’s and women’s taekwondo championships. In contrast, Benilde gained titles in the men’s beach volleyball, badminton, and soft tennis titles.
