The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) had finally decided on Friday to play the all-or-nothing Game 3 of the men’s basketball finals between Far Eastern University (FEU) and National University (NU) at the famed Araneta Coliseum.

The match is scheduled to tip off Wednesday, October 15 at 4:00 pm.

Initially scheduled at the Mall of Asia Arena, the Coliseum’s management invoked a clause in a contract signed with the league prior to the season stipulating that at least two out of the three games of the series will be played at the historic venue in Cubao.

In Game 2, 24,896 patrons packed the venue last Wednesday to set a new UAAP attendance record at the venue — beating out previous records set by the Cheerdance Competition and games contested between De La Salle University and Ateneo de Manila University.

NU, who won in a 62-47 rout during the attendance record-setting match, looks to secure its first title since 1954 and become the lone fourth-seeded team to do so.

On the other hand,FEU plans to spoil the Bulldogs’ parade and hang their 20th banner — their first since the Arwind Santos-led team in 2005 — atop the rafters of their Morayta gymnasium.
