As fight sports are now seeing the rise of more exciting and entertaining fighters in lighter weight classes, a heavyweight class mixed-martial artist begs to differ.
Alain Ngalani, a Cameroonian-born strongman fighting from Hong Kong set to fight Paul Cheng in the undercard of tonight’s ONE Fighting Championship (ONE FC): Moment Of Truth at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, impressed onlookers with an array of skills with sheer power in an open workout a week earlier, then showcased his showmanship prior to last night’s weigh in with Jean-Claude Van Damme-like splitting skills.
Behind the tough exterior he exudes, he remains loyal to his ideal that he performs well as a showman inside the cage.
“I’m just gonna be myself. Everytime I’m myself, I do well,” he said in an interview granted to Fullcourtfresh.com. “I impress the crowd, this is what I do. I’m a showman. I’m a fighter, but I am also an entertainer. And I’m sure they’re going to enjoy it again.”
The night’s first match will kick off at 7:00pm.
