The University Athletic Association of the Philippines has found its new home for Season 75.

Dubbed as a premier destination for sports and entertainment in the country, the brand new Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City recently was opened for viewing in an exclusive event for both National University alumni and the online media recently.

Built on the land directly across the SMX Convention Center, the venue already has hosted major concerts acts such as Lady Gaga, New Kids on the Block, and the Backstreet Boys within its first month of operation.

With the opening of the UAAP in July 14, it is said to be the first-ever sporting event to be hosted at the venue.

Following the opening ceremonies, the men’s basketball weekend slate kicks off with hosts National University against crossroad opponents University of the East, then University of Santo Tomas takes on Far Eastern University after the season opener.

The following day features De La Salle University taking on University of the Philippines in the matinee at 2:00 pm, with Adamson University taking on defending champions Ateneo De Manila University in the main game at 4:00 pm.

Besides the men’s basketball wars, other events planned to be held there as well are the finals of the cheerdance, tennis, and volleyball competitions within the season.

The arena seats a full-house capacity of 20,000 spectators, but the official number released for basketball is pegged at 15,093 all-seated spectators.

Compared to other sporting venues in the country, the venue boasts of numerous state-of-the-art amenities, including seats with cupholders in all sections, separate dressing rooms for athletic and concert acts, luxury boxes for corporate entities at the third floor, and great views of the playing court up to the last row of the general admission section.
