1:00pm – State U vs. Far Eastern
3:00pm – Ateneo vs. Santo Tomas

National University ends their longest losing streak of the season, while De La Salle University extends their longest winning streak since 2009 in Sunday’s UAAP men’s basketball doubleheader at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

Emmanuel Mbe got his game going and removed himself from the “missing persons” list in the Bulldogs’ 63-56 takedown of Adamson University. The 6-foot-7 slotman from Cameroon had 16 points and 12 rebounds in a season high performance. Rookie guards Denice Villamor and Gelo Alolino each added 11 and 10 points respectively.

Alex Nuyles had 15 points and 5 assists, while Eric Camson totalled for 13 points and 8 rebounds in a losing effort.

The Bulldogs, under head coach Eric Altamirano, nab just their second win out of six contests. On the other hand, the Soaring Falcons have incurred just their second loss in games decided down the wire for a 3-2 record with two games left on their first round schedule.

Meanwhile, the Green Archers defeated University of the East in an 87-63 drubbing. Sophomore two-guard Oda Tampus led the Taft five with 15 points and 4 assists, while Simon Atkins added 12 points and 5 assists.

LA Revilla, who finished with 10 points in the ballgame, was named the ACCEL-316 UAAP Press Corps Player of the Week for his oustanding performances in wins against NU on Thursday and UE today.

Adrian Santos plied his trade with 14 points off the bench, while Paul Zamar and JM Noble led the starters’ attack with 10 points apiece in the Red Warriors’ sixth straight loss in Round 1 alone.

DLSU have now caught on with the competition, tying Adamson in third place with equal 3-2 cards less than a week ahead of their scheduled matchup on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum.
