University of Santo Tomas unleashed a 32-6 run against Ateneo de Manila in the last 12:08 minutes of their UAAP Season 78 match to steal its fourth win and a share of the top spot, 68-58, Saturday, September 26 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Von Pessumal helped build a 16-point Ateneo lead with 2 minutes left in the third quarter with 19 points, topping the Blue Eagles scoresheet. Kevin Ferrer lead the Growling Tigers’ turnaround with 27 points, highlighted by three three-pointers in the fourth period.
UST now shares the top spot with Far Eastern University at 4-1, while Ateneo slips to 3-2 with National University.
