De La Salle University has been on a roll early on in Season 76 of the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament, despite losses to key players Michelle Gumabao and Melissa Gohing prior to the start of their campaign.

The Lady Spikers still had more than enough help from their veterans, especially from Mika Reyes.

For her part in the three-time defending champions’ success, the lanky 6-foot-2 blocker has been selected as Fullcourtfresh.com’s Hero of the Week.

Together with Ara Galang, the towering Reyes is the among the league’s leading scorers of the season (47 points), as well as being the second best blocker of the tournament (10 kill blocks) to aid De La Salle in their 4-0 romp to start their title retention campaign.

Nominees for this week’s citation included National University’s Dindin Santiago and Ateneo de Manila’s Alyssa Valdez.
