Known to be the last University to suspend classes during typhoons, University of the Philippines-Diliman pushed through with its year-ender event, the annual Lantern Parade, despite threats of Typhoon Nona just looming around the horizon.
As soon as heavy rains stopped, students, faculty, and guests started to flock the university’s academic oval.
College of Engineering bagged the top prize with their version of UP’s Oblation with a fiery heart gazing upon a small city.
Second place was awarded to College of Architecture’s Maranao-themed house. Students lifted the structure reenacting Botong Francisco’s famous “Bayanihan” painting.
National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG) took third place with their large sun.
