
A fourth quarter scoring explosion led University of the East past league-leading Far Eastern University, 96-71, to keep its Final Four hopes alive in the UAAP Season 77 men’s bastketball tournament, on Sunday, September 7, at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Red Warriors burst with 30 points in the last period while keeping the Tamaraws tamed – who produced only 11 points.
Bong Galanza led the Red Warriors with his career-high performance with 26 points. Mac Belo produced 16 points to lead the Tamaraws.
UE improves to 7-5, while FEU falls to 10-3 to tie with Ateneo de Manila University.
UE will face DLSU on Wednesday, September 10, to continue its hunt for a Final Four spot. FEU and ADMU will battle on Saturday, September 13, to determine who will take top seed.
