A sea of green and white flooded De La Salle University’s Taft Avenue campus on Thursday night, as the defending seniors division overall champions celebrated their first semester teams’ success in the ongoing UAAP Season 76 wars.

Highlighted by the wins of the new men’s and women’s basketball champions, the school currently holds the top spot in the general championship race with 162 points, ahead of University of Santo Tomas (146 points) and University of the Philippines (133 points).

Other teams that gained podium spots for DLSU were the men’s (1st place) and women’s (2nd place) table tennis, women’s badminton (2nd place), men’s (2nd place) and women’s (3rd place) swimming, men’s (1st place) and women’s (2nd place) taekwondo, and the men’s (3rd place) and women’s (1st place) judo squads.

Following a brief press conference with the members of the triumphant Green Archers men’s basketball squad, the festivities commenced with a thanksgiving mass for the student-athletes late in the afternoon at the Most Blessed Sacrament chapel, with the program hosted by a slew of La Sallian alumni kicking off the nightcap at the lobby of the Henry Sy Sr. Hall.

Also highlighting the event was the sendoff for the student-athletes of the second semester sports, led by the “four-peat” seeking women’s volleyball team.
