Despite the Philippine team’s magical run towards the AFF Suzuki Cup semifinals two years ago, their campaign hit a snag when they had to play both of their matches against Indonesia in enemy territory due to the lack of ample facilities to host the home leg of the home-and-away series.
Two years later, the Azkals finally played their first-ever home game in the most prestigious tournament in the ASEAN region against Singapore on Saturday night. Despite the nil-nil scoreline, both teams played a highly physical and emotional match in front of a raucous home crowd at the historic Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.
Fullcourtfresh’s ace lensman Jenner Ong was on hand to capture some of the highlights of the match.
