The Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles clobbered the Far Eastern University Tamaraws, 94-82 in UAAP Season 80 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Looking to retain its unblemished 2-0 card, the Blue Eagles started out strong finishing the first half with a 10-point margin, 55-45, over the Tamaraws. Anton Asistio led the Atenean onslaught in the first two cantos, tallying 14 points in just almost 12 minutes of playing time.
The Tamaraws tried to stay within the distance against the tougher Atenean side as Wendell Comboy top-billed the Morayta-based squad with 12 points in over 18 minutes of play. Main FEU defensive anchor Prince Orizu finished the game with only five boards as the Tamaraws lost the rebounding battle to the imposing Atenean frontline, 42-37.
King Eagle Thirdy Ravena led the Katipunan Royalty with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, shooting 64% from the field. Chibueze Ikeh chipped in 6 points and 9 boards to help Ateneo keep its grip on top of the UAAP Season 80 Standings.
