National University’s Jayjay Alejandro took to his own hands his team’s fate when the usual scorers Gelo Alolino and Alfred Aroga kept misfiring, leading the defending champions with 25 points past De La Salle University, 81-73, Wednesday October 28, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Alolino and Aroga, the Bulldogs’ usual go-to guys, scored only 7 points apiece.
Spitfire Alejandro didn’t want to see his team’s Final Four hopes go to dust, scoring 17 of his 25 in the crucial fourth period.

Jeron Teng led the Green Archers with 25 of his own, but it wasn’t enough to propel the Taft-based squad to a much needed win.
The Green Archers have the ADMU Blue Eagles, the UP Fighting Maroons, and the league-leading FEU Tamaraws left on their schedule while the NU Bulldogs will play the latter two. If both teams are tied for the last Final Four slot after the eliminations, a knockout playoff game will be played.
Here are the photos of the game by FCF’s chief photographer Martin San Diego:
