So you’ve chosen to stand on a hill between the earth and sky, which coincidentally is blue and white much like your new alma mater. God knows how long you’ve prayed and eagerly anticipated for this moment to arrive. All that waiting is definitely going to be worth it. To all you Katipunan-bound freshmen, here are some tips from your Blue Eagles on how to survive… the Ateneo way!
Nico Elorde
  • Attendance is a must. Teachers notice that. If you go to class, maganda tingin ng teachers sayo.
Juami Tiongson
  • Watch Ateneo-La salle games
  • Never cram in school.
  • A good place to hang out for freshmen would be in the library.
  • For a nice place to eat, try Banapple.  The quality of the food is good and it’s affordable.
Von Pessumal
  • Just always be ready. In college it’s a whole different atmosphere coming from high school. Teachers have different styles so you have to be prepared.
  • Around campus you can hang out in the cafeteria or zen walk. If you’re alone, Matteo.
Tonino Gonzaga
  • Profs are gonna make it hard for you in the first year. Just keep working hard.  It will get easier.
  • Choose your profs wisely. Don’t go for the ones that other people say are easy. In the future they won’t look at your grades. They’ll look at what’s inside your head.
JP Erram
  • Dedicated ka dapat sa ginagawa mo. For student-athletes (this applies to others as well), be motivated because this will cause you to excel.
  • For freshmen, I recommend going to the library kasi aircon and because it’s at the center of everything so convenient siya.
Nico Salva
  • When you enter college there’s going to be a lot of changes in your environment. Take your time. Don’t worry about stress and pressure. As much as possible, make friends. Join orgs, makakatulong yun. You’ll be able to meet upperclassmen and they can help you out, give you advice and things like that.
  • Places to eat… JSEC or the cafeteria.
