Aljon Mariano receives treatment for his sprained ankle on the bench in their match against UE. Martin San Diego | FCF
With University of Santo Tomas already shorthanded in the absence of Jeric Teng, who is currently listed day-to-day due to a shoulder injury, another Tiger goes down in their loss against UE.
Forward Aljon Mariano injured his left ankle, the same foot that gave way during UST’s run-up to the season opener.
He suffered the injury during the 5:04 mark of the third period of their 68-67 loss to the Red Warriors.

“Pagka-hop step ko, natapakan ko ata yung paa ni (Charles) Mammie, tapos nag-twist siya,” recalled the fourth-year forward to Fullcourtfresh.com.
The team’s physical therapists said that the injury is not serious and would allow him to play in their next assignment on Wednesday against Ateneo at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Mariano finished with just four points and saw only 14 minutes of action in the contest.
