(UPDATED: August 12, 6:08pm) The squad of “no-namers” just suffered a huge blow to their campaign.
Jamil Ortuoste, who has been San Sebastian’s key cog throughout their NCAA Season 89 campaign went down with a Grade 2 ankle sprain on his left foot during practice.
According to Ortuoste, a shifty guard coming from their vaunted juniors program, he suffered the injury during their practice last Friday in preparation for their match against three-time defending champions San Beda College on Monday.
“Natapakan ko yung paa ni CJ (Perez) sa move ko. Tumunog siya,” told Ortuoste to Fullcourtfresh.com
The injury will sideline Ortuoste, who was seen at The Arena in San Juan walking on crutches, for 2-3 weeks.
This season, Ortuoste posted 16.4 points on 45.4 percent shooting from the field, together with 3.9 assists in 28 minutes per ballgame.
