Romero, Galera collide for interim bantamweight title; Benibe challenges Chope for interim featherweight crown

Two of the Philippines’ elite Mixed Martial Arts stables Team Lakay and Deftac will collide, as their respective fighters go head-to-head in the headlining bout of Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) 23: Unrivaled at the SMX Convention Center tonight.

Deftac’s Red Romero will face undefeated Lakay MMA fighter Dave Galera for the URCC Interim Bantamweight title in the night’s top-billing match. The winner will face current Bantamweight title holder Jessie Rafols for the undisputed title.

Supporting bouts for the night include a literal David vs Goliath showdown between Maic’s Gym bet Andrew Benibe going up against American fighter Will Chope of Phuket Top Team for the interim Featherweight title, plus undefeated amateur MMA fighter Arvin Chan guns for the Interim Lightweight title against ex-URCC Middlewight champion Froilan Sarenas.

Gates will open at 7:00pm, with the first of seven undercard matches to begin at 8:00pm.
