Last Sunday was indeed a buzzer-beater day as the second game of seniors hoops ended with a pulsating, yet controversial, result as the Far Eastern University Tamaraws edged the National University Bulldogs, 77-75, via a last millisecond layup by RR Garcia.

The controversial shot, which the season hosts protested before the UAAP board, was called good by the referees, as the ball apparently took off from Garcia’s fingertips right at the buzzer.

That single winning shot put the Tamaraws to just a fingertip away from a sure final four slot, as they are currently tied with the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers at second and third place at 8-3.

The Bulldogs, meanwhile, are half a game away from current fourth placer De La Salle Green Archers at 6-5.
