It’s another draw for the Philippine Azkals and the Malaysian Tigers in their FIFA international friendly match on the latter’s home turf for Friday.

But unlike their first meeting in February, both teams failed to score.

Initially playing on 4-2-3-1, Denis Wolf found himself often unfed by the midfield which struggled against the Malaysians who desperately wanted to win at home. Ian Araneta’s 84th minute entrance looked promising for the Azkals but the Philippine Air Force player barely made a mark in the offensive as the frustrated home players dominated the end game.

But Malaysia’s strikes never found the back of the net.

Keeper Roland Muller also struggled with his defensive line, and even had a head-to-head clash with teammate Juani Guirado at the second half.

Marwin Angeles came close to making his first international goal, but was off by a couple of feet. Stephan Shrock also spoiled an opportunity as he struck way above the deserted keeper’s box.

The Azkals will face Indonesia next on Tuesday at Rizal Memorial Stadium before playing against Guam at Panaad Stadium, Bacolod on June 12.
