The De La Salle University (DLSU) trounced rival Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) today on game three of the finals of the UAAP women’s volleyball to earn their second straight championship crown. (View game photos here)
Beating the blue team in a three-set game at the Filoil Flying V arena, the Lady Spikers ended season 74 with only one loss.
As early as the first set, the Lady Spikers put up their strong defense, led by the blocking pair of Michelle Gumabao and Mika Reyes. La Salle listed five blocks while Ateneo had none for the set.

The back-to-back champion sustained their game play by the second set, despite the Eagles edging them on the blocking department at three versus two. The Taft-team kept Roger Gorayeb’s wards to their toes with the continuous saving of the ball.
By the final set, La Salle slipped past their opponent and concluded the game with a high 13-point lead.
Captain Cha Cruz was named player of the game and MVP of the finals. She listed 12 points, 11 attacks and one serve. Today’s game was also her last.
With La Salle’s win today, the women’s team of the university has now seven championship titles under their belt.
