Danny Green returned to Manila. His visit kicked off Friday at the NBA Store in Mandaluyong to meet members of the press and his Filipino fanbase.
During the session, Green weighed in on popular topics, most notably Bam Adebayo’s recent 83-point game.
“I was happy for him. He’s an amazing player, he had an amazing night. Nobody expected it to happen. It can’t happen to a better person.”
He also cited Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Anthony Edwards and Stephen Curry as some of the superstars who are very capable of scoring 80 points in a game.
A champion at both the collegiate and professional levels, Green was a foundational piece of the North Carolina Tar Heels’ 2009 NCAA title run. In the NBA, he joined an elite group of only four players to win championships with three different franchises. Known for his ‘3-and-D’ prowess, he secured his first NBA ring with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014, followed by a second with the Toronto Raptors in 2019, and a third in 2020 after joining the Los Angeles Lakers.
Following a 15-year tenure in the league, he has transitioned into a career as a broadcaster and podcaster. He is currently in Manila for a series of NBA-supported events and activities.
