
(UPDATED) The Philippine national men’s football team made another history six years after its breakout win against Vietnam in the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup, this time beating former World Cup squad North Korea, 3-2, on Tuesday in Manila.
Thanks to a breakaway goal by Iain Ramsay in the 90th minute, the Azkals entered the 2019 AFC Asia Cup qualifiers’ 3rd round after Bahrain will lost to to group leader Uzbekistan 0-1.
After an opening header goal by Misagh Bahadoran at the 44th minute, North Korea goaled on a rebound by So Kyong-Jin in injury time to end the first half tied at 1-1.

In the 48th minute, veteran striker Ri Hyok-Chol scored on an uncontested kick after a scramble from a free kick.
Hope for the home side came 36 minutes later, Manny Ott struck straight to the North Korean goal off a nifty back pass off rookie Miguel Tanton for the equalizer.

Ramsay then went on for the win, surging ahead past they exhausted Korean defenders with a strike off a Javi Patino pass from a Martin Steuble long ball.
