University of Santo Tomas (UST) stay undefeated in Season 78 of University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) basketball tournament, as the Espana-based squad bring University of the Philippines (UP) back to their senses, with a 67-59 win.

The Growling Tigers were successful in containing the Fighting Maroons, limiting the Katipunan-based squad to a four-point first quarter.

UP showed signs of brilliance in the third quarter gaining a short-lived three-point lead. But Daquioag and Ferrer’s tandem proved to be more experienced than UP’s young guns, as the two combined for 43 points.

“Nagpakilala lang ako”, Kevin Ferrer said in their team huddle after the game.
