De La Salle’s Jeron Teng got an elbow down low from Far Eastern University’s Ron Dennison as he went for a lay-up to extend his team’s 14 point lead with 1:08 left in the third quarter.
Teng fell in pain, and Dennison was called for the unsportsmanlike foul. The De La Salle star forward got his bonus shot, plus the added ball possession for the infraction.
A few plays later, Teng greeted Dennison – who was benched by Nash Racela following the game-changing call – with glaring stares and sarcastic claps for his actions, in which the latter smirked for completing his job of disrupting the focus of last year’s finals most valuable player.
The Green Archers went on to win the game in convincing fashion, forcing a rubber match on Wednesday, October 1, at 6:00pm.
