The nondescripts downed the stars in the side events of the inaugural National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) All-Star GamesSaturday at the San Juan Arena.

Third-string point guard Travis Jonson of St. Benilde outshot his foes in the Three-Point Shootout while San Beda’s team B standout Arnaud Noah soared high to bag the Slam Dunk Contest.

Jonson topped the elimination round with 21 points, edging Jose Rizal’s Philip Paniamogan and Mapua’s Exequiel Biteng’s 19 points.

In the playoffs for the last final’s slot, Paniamogan shot nine points over Biteng’s five points in the three-rack shootout.

Despite the lull, Jonson still waxed hot in the finals for 20 points while the All-Star Paniamogan afforded only 13 points.

“I just enjoyed the moment out there. Practice paid off,” said the 5’7” Jonson.

The dunk was phenomenal as Tankoua, who stands at 6’6”, was standing with his head down when Noah jumped over him.

The dunk was enough for Noah to barge in the finals against San Sebastian All-Star CJ Perez, who cleanly executed a tomahawk dunk while posing mid-air.

In the finals, Perez could not convert a dunk in two attempts while Noah successfully threw down a bounce-off-the-floor dunk in his first attempt, and a simple two-handed dunk in the second.

Noah scored 51 points in the finals to rout Perez’s 31 points.

“I just got a one-day practice for this. It must be Ola [Adeogun] who must be dunking, not me,” said Noah after the contest.

Adeogun, who is San Beda’s original bet in the Slam Dunk Contest, declined to participate in the last minute, Noah added.
