Ateneo de Manila University brings their mini-series against second-seeded National University to a no-tomorrow showdown following a 25-17, 12-25, 31-29, 28-26 victory on Wednesday in a contest that lasted 1 hour and 44 minutes.

Outside hitter Ella De Jesus amounted for 16 points, including back-to-back attacks that closed out the contest. Alyssa Valdez arrived at The Arena in San Juan in the nick of time following her exam at Ateneo’s Loyola Heights campus to score a game-high 29 points.

The sister duo of Dindin and Jaja Santiago combined for 30 points in their losing cause.

Game 2 of the semifinal showdown will be on Saturday, 4:00 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
