In the pre-season clash of what was dubbed as the biggest basketball rivals in the country, De La Salle University emerged victorious over Ateneo De Manila University.
The Green Archers enjoyed a comfortable lead over the Blue Eagles during the first half, ending the first and second quarter 17-10 and 36-31 respectively.

The Eagles were not to be written off just yet, as they bounced back and brought the game closer to the Archers at 49-48 by the end of the 3rd quarter.

In the heat of the battle, DLSU rookie Norbert Torres dislocated his left elbow.

Ateneo drew with La Salle at 61-61 at the 4th quarter, but the Archers managed to inch away from their rivals in the dying minutes of the game and claim victory at 66-61.
